When I first saw a picture of the handbag, I was wondering how I was going to tackle painting so many squares without it looking totally messy or taking me hours to complete... thank goodness for the wonder of technology in the guise of the edible frosting sheet! Still involved quite a fair bit of work planning it out and measuring it to ensure that the frosting sheet matched the size of cake and vice versa.
The lock with the initials of the birthday lady. Painted in gold and silver.
Other golden touches include the zip and part of the handle.
Cake inside was customised to the birthday lady's preferences. The result was a pecan vanilla buttercake with 3 layers of premium swiss chocolate frosting and covered with chocolate fondant (much nicer than the normal white fondant).
It was fun to do!
