Swirls on Choc

A 1kg cake smothered in premium swiss chocolate frosting flanked by 2 rows of cupcakes with vanilla frosting lets you enjoy 2 types of frosting with one celebration.
Pink Flames

A dramatic and unique cake with pink flames against a black backdrop. All completely edible!

5 cupcakes spell out the birthday gal's name with even more flames.

I covered the cakeboard with fondant too and gave it an wavy fabric effect to tie the whole design together.
Chelsea's Star Player for 2010 is...

It's sweet that my customer knows so much about the birthday boy and who his 2 favourite players are! So, they are placed in a prime location on the cupcakes!
Edible frosting sheet is perfect when you want the exact image as decoration for your cake.

Swirly Cream

I had my reservations about putting so much frosting on a cupcake so I did a special frosting for this wedding cupcakes. It was more work but the payoff was that it was less sweet and can still be kept at room temperature. A bonus was hearing that most people ate the frosting instead of scraping it off!
A Wonderful Wedding
What a beautiful picture courtesy of the bride - she was blessed to have relatives help her out with making the cake-cupcake display stand using cake boards and wine glasses. It looks simply stunning!

Dora

Little Tiffany turns 2 with not just a cake but cupcakes too! All covered in fondant as the party was held in a warm environment.

Chocolate fondant covers the cupcakes then topped with a fondant deco or edible frosting sheet picture of Dora and her friends.

It was fun doing the garden deco complete with not just butterflies and flowers, but snails, pink smiley worms and cute little toadstools!

To reduce the amount of colouring used for the green background, I painted it over the white fondant instead of kneading the colouring into white fondant. A bonus point was that it gave me a chance to have a nice grassy brush stroke effect instead of a flat green background!

Happy Birthday BILLY & KLIPPAN!

What was a cake with lots and lots of cupcakes doing in IKEA on 10 October 2009?

2 of IKEA's best loved products have turned 30 this year and it was celebrated in a fun way last Saturday!
BILLY is a bookcase series that I myself love a lot and have bought quite a number over the years.
KLIPPAN is a sofa that you can personalise with many choices of covers.

Here's the 2 tier birthday cake decorated with handmade BILLY bookcase flanked by 2 KLIPPANs in the limited edition designs. For more info about these limited edition products, click here.

I used pretty flowers in a light colours so as to not overpower the main stars of the cake. It's white orchids and sweet pea made from gumpaste.

Cupcakes surrounding the cake... how many were there?

1000 cupcakes! All with various designs of BILLY, KLIPPAN and "30".

Hantaran - pretty in pink

Step 1 - cover the cake in fondant, decorate with royal icing scrolls, arrange sugar roses and leaves

Step 2 - wire the butterflies and place it so that it looks like the butterflies are flying around the flowers

Step 3 - put the cake on the tray (provided by the customer to match the other trays as part of her hantaran), surround with cupcakes and voila! An elegant hantaran combining a main cake surrounded by cupcakes!

A close up picture - the cupcake has an embossed fondant background.
(Note - the butterfly is not edible)

I love the pretty sparkly butterfly!
Lightning McQueen

It's all edible! A chocolate cake covered in fondant and decorated with the "95" lightning and Rusteze logo.
(I just realised it is a brand of medicated ointment-hehe)

To make the name stand out more, I did 2 sets so it has a shadow effect.

Surrounded by cupcakes with matching design of checkered flags and lightning.

Watch me go!
